Philosophy of Garden Design

With her designs having an emphasis on bold geometric form, cleverly softened by the lush, textural and innovative planting that has become her trademark, Beverly Johnson has earned a reputation for creating stylish gardens combining a unique mix of contemporary and traditional elements.

Each design is as unique as each client. Each hand drawn design ensuring that the garden complements the house, both inside and out. Each garden’s hard landscaping is softened by the planting, which ranges from naturalistic, soft, flowing schemes to those providing a bold, architectural feel, always providing year round colour, texture and interest. Lighting, furniture and accessories are also included within the design for those all important finishing touches.

Beverly trained and qualified at Pershore College of Horticulture, Worcestershire, and has since been awarded numerous RHS medals for her Show Gardens. She has been commissioned by and designed gardens for RMC Concrete (The Adaptable Garden – Silver Gilt 2004), BBC (The BBC Neighbourhood Gardeners’ Garden – Best Educational Feature in Show 2005), Cinzano (Bright & Breezy – Silver Medal 2005), The Cornish Tourist Board (Life’s a Beach – Silver Medal 2006) and Martin Harrison for the British Heart Foundation (Inner Peace – Silver Gilt 2006).

Beverly designs for both residential and corporate clients and her designs have featured in many newspapers and magazines, both regional and national.

Beverly is based in Stafford, and offers a Garden Design Service in Staffordshire and surrounding counties.
